I was to run 5 miles - no, no excuses this time - I did 5+ miles. I ran over 1.5 miles away from home and turned around and headed back, because it was getting dark. Around 2.3 miles, the battery in my GPS died. When I got back to my driveway, I just called it 3 miles even. I continued running for what I knew was 2 more miles, so I actually ran a total of 5.3-5.4 miles. I used the total amount of elapsed time instead of trying to make an adjustment. This way, the next time I run a 5-miler, I "should" have a better time.
